Blood thicker than water?

If someone wrongs you, crushes you, spits in your eye, breaks your heart, kicks you when you're down, why does it matter or not if you are related to this evil person? Does the blood you share between you make them any less evil? Or do they automatically get a free out of jail card?

Family is supposed to be the ones you count on, trust, and support you. What happens when they are the ones who breaks the trust and are the reason you need support in the first place?

Why do we forgive them when do the unforgivable, and yet when our friends, or lovers commit even the smallest boo boo we quickly throw them to the curb?

There are members of my family that karma needs to avenge. There are members who I wish I never met, and members that I couldn't live without. I have some that I find I have absolutely nothing in common with expect our blood. So why are we forced to form an uncomfortable relationship? Most likely will end in pain anyways. I don't understand this concept, and I expect I never will.

It's the old story YoYo, you get to choose your friends, but your relatives are thrust upon you.

Blood is thicker than water and there's not a damn thing we can do about that.
